I work full time as a teacher and i have my master’s in education. I am looking to earn my PhD which i would like to complete at night. you are right about accredited schools. i cannot imagine doing all of that coursework and then finding out that the school i was attending wasn’t accredited. many people i know did not take the proper steps when they first went into college nor when they went back, but luckily the schools were accredited. if you are willing to do all of that work to advance your degree, you should take those few extra steps to make sure it is the right school. great post!

I am a full-time mom looking to get back into the workforce. i have my bachelor’s degree but i am looking to earn an MBA. I have been researching online schools so i don’t have to spend too much time away from my girls. It takes a lot of work to ensure a school is accredited and it offers what you are looking for. but in the end, i am sure it will all be worth it.

I think it is both good and bad. I mean, it’s great that students can earn an advanced degree on their own time, but i also think there is something to be said for those who earn it at a brick-and-mortar college. Even though i have heard people say online college isn’t easy, i can’t imagine it being near as tough as brick-and-mortar. but…to each his own. It’s a great option none the less.

I agree with Sandra here. The fact that students can earn their degree AT HOME is huge. And earning everything from your GED up to a Doctorate…. leaves no more excuses for people wanting to earn higher degrees but not having the time. That being said, there is always the financial aspect to consider, however, with all of the grants and scholarships avaialable, i think it should be easy enough getting some of it paid and taking the rest out in a loan. But that is easier said than done. All in all, i think it is great that students can earn sucn advanced degrees in their homes.

I really find it amazing that students can now earn their advanced degrees online. I would think with all the work that needs to be done they would have to go to a classoom setting. I am seriously considering getting my Master’s degree mainly because I can do it online. I don’t have the time to go to class several days a week, but I can certainly fit the work into my already existing schedule. Thanks for the article! Will you be postng anymore like these?

I joined linkedin because it is so hard to find a job, i am willing to do anything it takes to get a job. i have actually gone on two interviews because of the site, although nothing has panned out. i still have hope

I have a facebook page, but i am so scared to use it because of articles like this one. you never know who is lurking. it just isn’t right. i want to delete it all together, but i want to be able to stay in touch with old friends. it makes things so easy yet so hard
